On November 19, 2020, a New York federal court granted a bank’s motion for summary judgment, finding the bank is not required to report a charged-off credit card account with a zero balance pursuant to the Fair Credit Reporting Act nor was it required to mark the account as disputed given the frivolousness of the claim. Chris Turcotte successfully defended the bank. Ostreicher v. Chase Bank USA, N.A., 2020 WL 6809059 (S.D.N.Y. Nov. 19, 2020).
